Position

Stand with your back to a bench or elevated surface and hold a barbell across your upper back.

Movement

  • Step one foot forward and place it on the bench behind you, keeping your chest up and core engaged.
  • Lower your body by bending your front knee and hip until your thigh is parallel to the ground, then push through your front heel to return to the starting position.

Breathing

Inhale as you lower into the squat and exhale as you push back up.
