Position

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a dumbbell in each hand by your sides with your palms facing in.

Movement

  • Raise the dumbbells in front of your body until they are at shoulder height, then lower them back down under control.
  • Keep your core engaged and your back straight throughout the movement.

Breathing

Inhale as you raise the dumbbells and exhale as you lower them back down.

Tips

  • Focus on using your shoulder muscles to lift the weights, rather than relying on momentum or other muscles for assistance.
  • Avoid swinging the weights or using excessive momentum to lift them, as this can reduce the effectiveness of the exercise.
  • Start with a light weight to ensure proper form and gradually increase the resistance as you build strength.
