Dumbbell Incline Bench Press

The dumbbell incline bench press is a variation of the bench press that targets the upper chest, shoulders, and triceps. It is performed on an incline bench with dumbbells, which allows for a greater range of motion and activation of the upper chest muscles.

Position

Lie on an incline bench set at a 30-45 degree angle with your feet flat on the floor and your back arched, holding a dumbbell in each hand above your chest with your arms extended.

Movement

  • Lower the dumbbells towards your chest by bending your elbows and keeping your upper arms at a 45-degree angle to your body.
  • Press the dumbbells back up to the starting position by extending your arms and squeezing your chest muscles.

Breathing

Inhale as you lower the dumbbells towards your chest and exhale as you press them back up.

Tips

  • Maintain a tight grip on the dumbbells and keep your wrists straight throughout the movement.
  • Lower the dumbbells under control to avoid bouncing them off your chest.
  • Engage your core muscles to stabilize your body and prevent excessive arching of the back.
