Position

Stand with your feet hip-width apart and hold a pair of dumbbells in front of your thighs with your palms facing your body.

Movement

  • Hinge at the hips to lower the dumbbells towards the floor, keeping your legs straight and back flat.
  • Push through your heels to return to the starting position, squeezing your glutes at the top of the movement.

Breathing

Inhale as you lower the weights and exhale as you return to the starting position.

Tips

  • Keep your core engaged and your back flat throughout the movement to prevent rounding or arching of the spine.
  • Focus on using your hamstrings and glutes to lift the weights, rather than relying on your lower back for assistance.
  • Start with a light weight to ensure proper form and gradually increase the resistance as you build strength.
